You didn't need to preface anything with that. Like in real life when people are like, "No homo," I'm like, well, that's insane. KM: I'm really interested to see what people think about it because all my friends were like, "You're just so dumb to put that in there." I'm like, well, to be fair, obviously I think that line is absurd. TV: On "Younger" you also have the line where you sing, "no homo." You spend that much time together, we didn't end badly, so, I'm going to put him on my song about him. We talk every day and people think that's absurd. We were together for eight years, and we're still best friends. And he's like, "No Brazilian talks this slowly." I'm like, "I know but I need it for the song." I'm still friends with everyone. He's not in entertainment at all and I made him talk really slow. Which he's horrified, because he hates hearing himself talk. He's the one speaking in Portuguese on the song. "Younger" is about my ex-boyfriend and he's on the song. KM: It's really only two people, and they know. It was that road trip that made us become a thing. He had his shit he was going through and didn't feel like he should put his quote-unquote baggage onto me. I went to Arizona with this guy and we were sort of figuring out what was happening. All of these songs are based off real things. KM: None of these are even thinly veiled. TV: What's the backstory behind "Arizona"-did you spend extended time there? What would Artie think about this? Or 'Artie really has changed or grown up.' Should we get in the shower now in front of a camera?" Reading people's comments has been fun. So it didn't really feel as weird as I thought it would. I was surrounded by my best friend, roommate, and creative collaborator, who was the one directing it. Once I reached out to Johnny and he was so down, I was like, he seems like a really sweet person. He was like, "It should be this really beautiful almost like editorial thing, it should be dark, and just you in the shower with this guy." In my head, we had very different versions of what this video was going to look like. That video really was almost brought on by my straight best friend, Justin Thorne, who directed and produced the song. And the song I think allows for that because it is sort of a role play of me being a confident person in a relationship, which at the beginning of a relationship is really hard for me. TV: What was it like showing that side of yourself to the public?
